Welcome to Elmore

An unspoiled stretch of Vermont’s renowned landscapes surrounds this rustic-chic, charmingly tiny town.

Snug between Morristown to the north and Stowe to the west, the sophisticated and secluded town of Elmore provides a rejuvenating escape into a world of rich natural beauty. Gently rolling hills set the stage for a backdrop of awe-inspiring mountains — including Mount Mansfield to the west — and the glimmering waters of Lake Elmore draw in an excited crowd throughout the year. The town itself is divided by the breathtaking Worcester Mountain Range, adding to its visual allure.

Elmore was established in the 1780s and was named for Colonel Samuel Elmore, one of the original grantees of the land. The town’s population of fewer than 1,000 residents creates a close-knit community and a culture that’s welcoming to all who visit. Bisected by Vermont Route 12, Elmore blends easy-to-travel with scenic vistas.

The residential real estate in Elmore is loaded with alluring rustic properties settled among the lush hills. Buyers come to this cozy town for its surplus of spacious, wooded lots and charming houses designed in a variety of styles. Newer-build Federal homes, historic farmhouses, luxury cabins, and sweeping estates all come with incredible access to a vast amount of nature right in their backyards. With campsites and a select few lakeside homes, Lake Elmore is among the most desired locations in Elmore.
