It should come as no surprise that Hyde Park — situated in some of Vermont’s most beautiful acreage — is positively brimming with options for outdoor recreation. Of particular note is the massive Green River Reservoir State Park, wrapped around the waters of the Green River Reservoir itself. Known for its remote camping facilities — including secluded tents only accessible by boat — and paddling experiences, the park is dedicated to maintaining its wild, unspoiled environment, making it the perfect place to escape civilization and get in tune with nature. 

Hyde Park’s long history allows it to offer visitors another unique source of entertainment. A 4-star inn, wedding destination, and event venue, The Governor's House, is the centerpiece of Hyde Park Village, graced with the elegance of bygone times. Each year, the establishment hosts five highly anticipated “Jane Austen Weekends,” where attendees can step back into Regency-Era England and experience social gatherings dressed as their favorite Austen characters.
